To get your game to play in windowed mode, follow the steps below. If you need additional help, just let me know.
1. Right-click on your Sims 2 icon that's currently in use.
2. Click "Properties".
3. Go to the box by "Target:".
4. In that box you will see something similar to the following: C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\The Sims 2 Bon Voyage\TSBin\Sims2EP6.exe
IF THIS DOES NOT LOOK EXACTLY LIKE YOURS, DO NOT WORRY. YOU MAY HAVE DIFFERENT EPs INSTALLED. DO NOT CHANGE ANYTHING EXCEPT WHAT IS INSTRUCTED IN STEP 5.
5. After the .exe at the end, press the spacebar once and add -w
6. Click "Apply" and your game is ready to play in windowed mode!

Very nice tutorial Neb! This will help several of our members who have the question "How do you play in windowed mode?" I also have a print screen I took for the "visual" learners.

Here is a more explained version to anyone who cares :] Again, it`s from my forum again Sims 2 in Windowed Mode
A lot of people (and that includes me) plays the Sims 2 game in windowed mode. This can be very handy especially to storywriters due to many reasons.
1. First of all, look for the game shortcut in your desktop. If you have an EP installed, then look for the latest EP’s shortcut. Mine is Bon Voyage. Right-click on it and select ‘Properties’.
2. There should be a small window. Put ‘-w’ (without the quotation marks) at the end of the target line. Now it should look like the image below.
3. After editing it, you must press OK, not Cancel. In order for the changes to ... effect, you need to restart your computer. Next time your game should be in windowed mode! |
