 The Sims 3
« Thread Started on Nov 10, 2008, 5:07pm »

So, I realized we didn't have any Sims 3 discussion going on here? What are your thoughts on The Sims 3 given the information we have now?

At first I wasn't excited - at all. Wasn't planning on getting it. Now I'm really hoping for a $100 gift card or so, so I can get it after Christmas and my Birthday.

The Sims 3, has been confirmed, that the specs will be real similar to Spore, which excites me - because I tested Spore here. And Spore passed - so I presume TS3 will. :D

So what do you think?

I think TheSims3 looks awesome. Even though the people don't look as good as I hoped, I can live with it. Also, the advanced customization sounds really good. Now, every lot on thesims.com will look different and not identical.

The town looks really cool too. There are like so many buildings in the pictures I've seen so far. The work buildings sound good too adding more realism in the game. It's cool how you can follow your sims to work and school.

An other thing I've heard that's cool is the storyline. The game is supposed to take place before TheSims 1 and too, when Mortimer Goth is a kid.

Finally, the price is ok I guess. I mean, 50 bucks still is a lot, but I was thinking a lot more earlier. The system specs surprised me too. I thought I would need like a...NASA space center computer to play it at first. But what it actually is sounds good enough for me :D

All in all, I think this game sounds pretty good, and I can't wait for it to come out. I can't wait to to see the buildings, legacys, and CC that people will make in this game.

I agree, the Sims aren't as good of looking as I hoped. I guess that's while I'll leave The Sims 2 on my computer for some time so I can indulge in some good looking Sims every so often. XD :P

Yeah I heard about the story line, and them all aging back - that seems cool.

Price, sigh, that'll always be an issue for me. That's why I want mah GIFT CARD. :D

I love the seam-less neighborhood, but the sims look like they're wearing plastic wrapping! The skin just looks so unreal! I think I prefer the sims 2 skin.I watched the video and seeing the picture of the sims having a protest just looks awesome! I'm proberly gonna buy it but its a shame it couldn't have been released 2 months earlier cause then I could have had it for my birthday!

I truely want the Sims 3 for my Birthday.. BUT... The game is being released a month after my birthday...... Which is annoying. =P

Overall, the Sims 3 looks cool as in the way you can walk anywhere to your neighbours lot and such.
One thing I will NOT do is over do the game with CC like I have with my Sims 2 game... I ain't reinstalling all of them expansion packs. =[

I need the Sims 3 though. =P

I'm not sure if there will even be CC in the game.Just probably the full customization for the objects. I'll get the direct quote....

Quote:
There will be a tool to create new textures for the game. There was no info about an external CAS tool, but it's highly likely there will be one. There will be no tool to create entirely new objects though.
However with the in-game Create-a-Style, you have a very powerful tool at your hands. Nearly every object in the game, from cars to tv's, to chairs to closets, everything can be recoloured and re-textured. You can apply different types of fabric like wood, paint, brick, etc, then change it in every color possible. Let's say you chose a white/red blocked plastics on a couch. You can then use this specific combination on every object in the house just by simply dragging it from the tool to the object.

Yeah I saw that.

Well there better be CC hair. Because from what I saw they have so far... looked hideous. ><

I'm really excited about the sims 3. It's going to be great, and I'm really excited about lots of the features, like sims with personalities, being able to stroll the neighbourhood without an annoying loading screen...

The only thing I'm not sick about is sims aging while I'm not playing with them. The first thing I'll do when I buy the game will be looking for a cheat to prevent it :)

I pre-ordered it in January expecting it to ship end of February, I was pissed to no end when they delayed the only game I've ever spent more than $100 on (spent $105.45 on it actually) by 4 months.

It better be worth it.
